Scam check

Got a message that feels off? Check it.

Paste the SMS, WhatsApp message or email. We point out the warning signs in it, the words that give it away, and what to do next.

Nothing you paste is stored. Long numbers, like account or card numbers and codes, are hidden before the check. Remove your own name if you like.

Questions people ask

Does the checker store my message?

No. The message is checked and then forgotten. Long numbers and codes are hidden before the check. We only count how many checks are done and what kind of scams come up, never the messages.

It found no warning signs. Is the message safe?

Not necessarily. The checker looks for common signs, and new scams appear all the time. If a message asks for money, a code or a quick decision, check with the company through its official app, website or number first.

I already paid or shared a code. What should I do?

Call 1930, the National Cyber Crime Helpline, straight away, or report it at cybercrime.gov.in. Tell your bank to block your account or card. The sooner you report it, the better the chance of stopping the money.

An automatic check for common warning signs, for awareness only. It can miss a scam and it cannot confirm that a message is genuine. The-Inversity is an education company, not the police or your bank.
